Scott & Blajyn came to spent the long weekend with us and Scott's kids, April, Kacie & Brodie. While they were here, we had a pretend birthday party for Blajyn. (His birthday isn't until this coming weekend). Blajyn loved riding this bike we had at the house. Pretty cool looking kid, don't you think?

And playing with the geese from the back yard. (All the grandkids love to play with them, thanks to Jesse for letting us have them!) He was a hoot to have at the house for the weekend. We love all our grandkids so much! And love to have them stay with us!

These are some pictures after April, Kacie & Brodie got here. Kacie & April decoratored the birthday cake for Blajyn, it was Gary the Snail from Spongebob. I think they did a really good job!

Blajyn got a new bike from his Dad & April, Kacie & Brodie.

Some pictures of them playing ball in the back yard.

More Garden updates. We have worked so hard in our yard this weekend. Trying really hard to get all the weeds out. So, it looks pretty good today. But, next week could be a different story. The onions are looking really good. while I was weeding, you could smell them. Can hardly wait to start eating them. I have already harvested the radishes and ate them. I had forgotten how good a fresh radish tasted.

MaryAnn gave me some strawberry plants for Mother's Day, last weekend. I got a pot and planted them. They look so pretty...now the wait is on for the strawberries to grow. LOL

We even cleaned out the garage. Now that is a really yucky job. Scott was in town, so him & Mark did most of the work in there. It is spring time...time to dejunk. You are supposed to park your car in the garage are you? I know it has been years since we have. LOL

Gwyn had a dance recital last week, and I was able to attend it. Another thing that I love to do...watch the Grandkids in Dance recitals. They are so cute! Gwyen did a great job, she knew her dances and she looked so cute! (And they look so grown up in the costumes).
On Sunday, we headed for Scott's house to spend the day with him & Blajyn. We took a trip to the mountains, and made a Dutch Oven lunch before heading back home. I love the red rocks and red dirt that is in Southern Utah. We took a little walk around the camp grounds and found a car in the ditch. Now that would just ruin the camping trip!

Here are some more pictures.

Just had to put this picture of Cora working in the yard too. MaryAnn & Bryant have the best kids, they love to help you out.

They worked so hard in the yard on Saturday, Mark & Bryant took them to the park to play in the water, when we finished up the yard work. (Don't know where they get all their engery from?) Cora was a hoot to watch play, she would get a little bit of water on her and then run out screaming with a smile on her face. Little kids are the best!

We took the tiller with us, Bryant's tiller was not working. So they started tilling right away. I think everyone took a turn at tilling...even me. It must just be fun!

And Jake needed to cook a meal for his Bear badge in Cub Scouts. So, Jake and I cooked dinner in the Dutch Ovens. When we discussed what we where going to cook in the Dutch Oven, he was a little suprised that we could make a cheese cake. Here is a couple of pictures of Jake cooking. (We forgot to take pictures of the finished meal...I guess we where to excited to eat it!)

After dinner that night, Clay had a baseball game. Oh how I love to watch the little ones play. Clay did really well. He played regular little league ball.

The next day was Addie's game. She played T-ball. We where just so glad that we could see one of their games. We would really like to go and see all the grandkids play at least one of their games each season. Nothing better!

We where able to travel to Southern Utah last week, to see the kids. Last year I decided that I was going to work on making each of the Grandkids a new quilt...it has been a few years since they got one from me. So, on the way down there, I sewed the binding on these quilts for Addie and Cora. Maryann says that they play pretend on them. I love to make quilts and then give them away. Everyone is always excited to get a new quilt.
May 11, 2009 we finally got to plant the tomato plants...I think we have about 24 plants. I know that is a lot of plants, but, we start canning them as soon as they come on. We have since planted, the peppers, and squash plants also. And the potatoes have started to come up. We are so excited to see the progress in the garden.

Yesterday we traveled to Burley, Idaho for fund raiser that the Snake River Dutch Oven group sponsored, for the "Meals on Wheels" for that area. We thought it would be a good experience to go there and cook, and meet new people. And it was so fun!
These are some pictures from us cooking. We made a Jambalaya Casserole & Praline Cheesecake with homemade carmel sauce on it. Looks pretty good, don't ya think?
