Grandma hurt her leg, 05/25/2010

Grandma hurt her left leg again. She did a side step so the dog would not get out of the house. And she said that it felt like her knee went backwards. She called me at work to take her to the hospital. I always know that if she is calling for me to take her there, it must be bad. She really tolerates pain well...so I know that it must have been really bad.
It ended up that the tendant was messed up. She really should have the knee replaced, and her doctor said that if it was not better in a month...that is what they were going to talk about...
We are praying that it will heal fast.

Grandma the day after, with Gage making her smile!!

Cooking and Gardening - May 2010

Jess, DaNell and the kids came up a couple of weeks ago to help design a watering system for the garden, so it would be easier for us. We have some PVC pipe with valves and soaker hoses attached to it. It is AWSOME! It is going to help save water, time...and make life so much easier for us.
While the boys where out building the water system, Gwyn, Megan & I were in the kitchen cooking dinner and making an delicious cheesecake.
Gwyn & Megan...the finished product. A peanut butter cheesecake.
The crew that build the watering system for us! Gwyn, Megan, DaNell, Jesse & Jeramiah. Thanks!!!!
Can you see that soaker hose working? We are so excited for it!

Garden time....already May 2010

We are getting the gardens ready to plant...tilling with the 'Mom tiller' as Jesse calls it. Cuz, it is small, so I can till the growing beds with it. The other tiller...mostly takes me for a ride! LOL
That is me tilling! The box behind that one, is full of onions from last year. They went to seed really soon, so I left them thinking that they come back this year. And they did. We have enjoyed fresh onions from the garden! Nothing like fresh veggies and fruit that you have grown yourself.
Mark & I have worked really hard to get the garden ready to plant.

Bee run, May 2010

MaryAnn & Bryant had a lot of bees that they sold from Kanab to Honeyville. So, we got have the kids stay with us, while they delivered them. They had so much fun playing on the exercise ball.

Cora and Addie just being so cute!!
Must be war!!! We so enjoy the kids and grandkids !!

Getting seeds ready to plant, May 2010

We had a Releif Society class on how to make your own pots to grow plants in, and then you just plant them in that, and the paper will bio-degrade. I took a couple of nights to make all the pots and then I started to plant them. It was pretty fun to do. Then I could take them outside during the day and bring them in at night, when was still to cold for them. It sure helped the garden get a good start.
Most of the plants where starting to grow!

Our new chickens - May 2010

Our chickens were not laying very good...well really not at all. So, we decided to get some new chickens. I have never seen anything so funny! The old chickens hated the new ones....not sure how the new ones felt about the old chickens. LOL
The old ones stayed outside all day, it was even raining. They went into the house when it got dark, but everyone stayed on their side of the house. And the old chickens just cried for about a week. Then they got used to each other.

Here they are out in the run. Thinking what have you done to us???

These are the new chickens. They were about 5 months old when we got them. So, they would start laying eggs pretty soon. We are still waiting for them to lay some eggs...
I only have 1 of the old chickens left. It is Pumkin. And I go out every day to check on her. She just looks old now. When I found Brownie dead, I cried really hard. And Mark was getting her out of the pen, and looked at me and said, "Cindy, you can't name the new chickens."
I won't name them, cuz they all look alike.

Blajyn - April 2010

I got to spent a little time with Blajyn that day also. We went home and picked him up, and went to a place so he could ride the water boats. He loves them. They can bump into other people, and they have a water gun...so you can get other people wet! What fun for little kids.!
What a cute kid he is! Just patiently waiting for the ride to open. I took video of him riding the boats.

Scott rock climbing with a friend - April 2010

I have never been brave enough to watch the boys rock climb...until now. I decided I wanted to watch, so glad that I did. They really do practice safety when they climb.
I met Scott out there, and he walked me into and up the mountain where they were climbing. It was a bit of a challenge to get me over some of the boulders...but, I did it.
Scott told me that if I fell...I couldn't play anymore, so please be careful Mom. LOL
This is what the valley looks like, that we hiked into for the rock that they were climbing on.
Scott on the rock wall. I would be scared to death! You have to have really strong fingers and toes to climb the rock.

I would think that coming down would be kindof fun. They tell the person on the ground that they are coming down, and wait for them to say ok. That person has their life in their hands, he holds the rope tight, so he can desend.
Scott at the top, he has to go over and release the rope from the top of the rock wall they where climbing. That part I didn't like to watch! But, he told me that they have clips in there to clip onto, while you are reaching over to undo your rope. Comforting...
A couple of pictures of flowers that I saw on the mountain that day. I don't get to see a catus in bloom very often.

Addie and Cora's dance recital - April 30, 2010

This was my first time to see their dance recital. I decided that I would just go down to Southern Utah for it. So glad that I was able to that this year! There is just nothing cuter that little girls doing their dance.
Posing before the dance recital. She has her hair done, and makeup on.
Addie got to be in the opening dance for the show. They had just about 1 person from each class in it. Addie and Cora were so excited for the dance recital! And they both did a great job!

Cora doing her pose before the big dance recital. Their little butts wiggle so cute with that costume she had one.

Jeramiah's baseball game

We have also been to a couple of Jeramiah's baseball games. He plays coach pitch. They have a machine that pitches the ball to the kids, they get 6 swings to hit...if they don't hit, they get out the t-ball thing and they hit from that. And everyone gets a chance to bat, then the team retires and goes outfield. They only get up to bat twice.
I wonder how this kind of ball affects them, when they have to play the regular rules. Like when you strike out, or you only get 3 outs, then you change it up?
But, the kids seem to like it...and that is what counts, that the kids are having fun.
Jeramiah, getting ready to catch the ball. Daddy, Gwyn & Grandpa watching. (Sorry Grandpa, I cut off your head.)
They look so cute out on the field. The coach tells each player where to stand, and that is pretty much where they stay.
Now he is getting ready for his turn to bat.
Jeramiah up to bat. And his Dad giving him a 'high 5' for the great game that he played!

Gwyn's soccer game

We have gone and watched Gwyn play soccer a few times...she is an awsome player. I can't believe how fast she can run. She gets the ball, and before you know it, she is at the goal shooting it. And if someone trips her or pushes her...that only makes her more determined to get that ball to the goal! We have really enjoyed watching her grow in her soccer skills.
Gwyn is the blond up front.
Now you can see her number, she is #4
She is headed for the goal! No one around her...
After the game. She still looks like she could play another game!
Jeramiah doesn't watch the game very much, he plays around or sits on my lap...wrapped up in the blanket to keep Grandma warm! The sun can be shinning and it is still cold at the soccer games!
